MS Access Password Retrieval for Free
Welcome to my first article. It's a little scary writing a first article, as you wonder if it will be read by anybody and so on. Anyway I picked a hard topic to write any large amount of information on but this is stuff that I found very useful and some people I've spoken to found it hard to find information on.
The task is to get a password from an Access database for free. If you haven't already found a free program then I would recommend EverythingAccess.com's Password Retrieval Lite. It has worked for everything I've used it on. Find it at http://www.everythingaccess.com/downloads/AccessPasswordRetrievalLiteSetup.exe . Its only limitation seems to be multi-user password recovery, but frankly I have yet to need it.
Well that pretty much sums it up for password recovery from an Access point of view. If you're a serious hacker then you might need a few extra tools of the trade. Actually if you're a serious hacker you probably already made all of your tools of the trade. For those of us who need a little help, or if the previous Access password hacker didn't work then this site could be every hacker's dream. http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/index.html is the address.
I'm sure if you're inventive you can find exciting new uses for each of these applications. :-D.
A lot of the programs on this site are just simple little things that make use of the fact that a lot of windows programs archive their passwords without encrypting them, or encrypt them with weak encryption routines. However I was a little shocked to find WEP decryption tools so openly available. Perhaps I am a little nieve but these are proper cracking tools freely available online. If it was so simple to find this piece of software just think how easy it is for wannabe hackers to get hold of fully blown hacking toolsets and tutorials. No wonder it is so important to keep software updated continuously.
